DKNY Pop-Up opens in NYC

After the success of a similar opening in LA, DKNY opens up a pop up shop in the Flatiron District of NYC.  Set in the urban landscape of the district, the pop-up shop collection is selected for the savvy mid day/lunch shopper who may pop in during their break.
According to DKNY president of retail Carol Sharpe in her statement in WWD, it is expected that the silk camp shirt, tote bag and grommet sneakers will be popular.  The selection may change according to what the neighborhood/customer may react to.

Amazon on the Airwaves

Amazon, the very successful e-tailer known for its customer obsession, delivering value to the customer and offering the latest in consumer goods is looking to grab its stake  and make its presence known in the fashion category.  To create awareness, they are making their way to the airwaves with a campaign to support its fast growing fashion category.  The campaign will feature print ads, on the site and tv spots.  This is a very smart move since a large percentage of style savvy consumers  use all types of media including the internet to discover and shop.
Ebay has done a wonderful job in the CSA (clothing, shoe, apparel) category and now Amazon, with it’s Zappos acquisition, and well positioned campaign could possibly provide some nice competition.
